Need suggestions on trip to the PNW

I'm planning a long trip to the Pacific Northwest this summer and wanted your input. Please take a look at this trip and let me know if there are any great opportunities I'm obviously missing:

PNW Trip

UPDATE: Several of you have asked about the timeline. The PNW part of this trip will begin on May 10th in San Francisco. The earlier stops are just my getting to San Francisco. I need to get back to SoFla by October 29th. So I have about 5.5 months to explore from San Fran to SoFla.

  • One of our best stops was Evergreen Air & Space Museum in McMinnville, Oregon. It was an unplanned stop and spent several hours there. Outstanding.
  • Well, you're completely missing Idaho! Lots to see & do here as well. :)
  • My gosh your all over the place in Oregon. Your itiniary is so jumvled up I got confused. Central Oregon alone you could spend a month and still miss a lot. It looks to me like your hitting the highlights, but missing the gems. Send me a PM if with your thoughts on Oregon, maybe I can clean it up for you.
  • I would suggest doing some day-tripping on some locales. The side legs shown would be great in small vehicle.
I would add the Icefields highway north of Banff up to Jasper.
It is going to be a nice long trip. Maybe three or four months?
  • From point 25 John Day Fossil Beds I would head north to the Columbia River - Eastern Oregon is a well kept secret and it is a great drive. I would then head west to point 30, 29, 28 then south to 27 and 26.
From point 26 I would head north on the Oregon Coast to point 31.
Otherwise, your routing misses some spectacular coast scenery along the central California coast and the Oregon coast. Plus, this will save you having to back-track some.
  • Looks like lots of trip and little stop and smell the roses time.
  • Wow! How long for this trip? I think you about covered it. :) That would have been about 4-5 summers of full-timing for a trip like that!
