You still need to get your immigration papers (Visa - FMM) there and pay for that - I have never understood the reasoning for getting some paperwork ahead of time when you still have to stop for other paperwork and customs. Maybe I am missing something. Maybe you can get FMM at a Banercito further down the road? Passport? We keep learning new things and changing the way we do things. Haven't found a realistic way to bypass customs etc. We do get a 10 year but if we are not sure if we will be using the same vehicle again we turn it in. A cracked and replaced windshield when up north can play havoc with paperwork next crossing.
