- tahiti16ExplorerHow long are you planning for this trip? The destinations you list, and starting point, are pretty far apart. You may want to put stake in the ground for Anaheim and SB as there are limited spots and if during summer break real busy.
- 3LittleDucksExplorerTime of year is up for debate. Would be great to be in NV/CA in winter, but I think the roads are too risky, possibly later in spring, but can still run into delays. We'll have the most flexibility time-wise in the summer when the kids are out of school (which is probably when we'll go..), but heat/crowds are less appealing.
Basically, we're open to suggestions there too! - OrionExplorer

Beat me to it, that would be my first question too!
If you were going in the Summer, then the shortest route to Las Vegas, even from Vancouver, is by way of Salt Lake City, even shorter if you were coming from further east. You would still have to do the Grand Canyon as a separate trip, or you could stop off at Bryce Canyon and or Zion on the way down, IMHO they are even more spectacular than the Grand Canyon. You can then carry on to LA and back home on the coast or the I5. You would not be able to do that in other than the Summer as we had a foot of snow in SLC in May once. - pauljExplorer IIWhat time of the year?
