Well you seem to have survived the barrage of advice from forum members who think you're doing too much. Good for you! Passed your first test.
I will add my voice to the minority who says, "Go for it." In a modified plan, however.
I look forward to seeing your Plan B.
Right now, in my first year of semi-retirement, I prefer a day of no more than 300 to 350 miles driving. I always use 50MPH as the planned for average. (I always hope to do better, but rarely do it.)
When we started RV-ing, nearly 20 years ago, our plans were much more ambitious. Much like yours. We had two teenagers along with us. Concerning family dynamics: no one can tell you how your kids will react. I hope you aren't paying too much attention to what others are saying about your kids. Our kids (who are now 36 years old) have very, very fond memories of our "ambitious" trips. They don't talk about being stressed and tired and hungry (although they were all of that). They THANK me for these trips. So. There you go.
