Just south of Santa Cruz is Moss Landing. Stay at the Moss Landing KOA and directly behind them is the docks for whale watching tours.
A great place to stay in the Crater Lake area is Collier Memorial State Park less than 30 miles to Crater Lake and the campground is MUCH better.
