Thanks 2Gypsies - and yes, will need to save for CA - LOL
Busskipper - WOW, clearly wasn't the number of stops i had but mileage that threw you guys off - lol. Lots of googling for me tonight. Don't think we will do that many stops, but try to base more from one place and see if we can catch lots of those via day trips (i.e Mesa Verde day trip from Durango, Escalate from Bryce, etc). Wife seems to like the idea of multiple nights better than constantly moving and wants to see some towns as well vs just NP's so balancing. We will see how we like it once we start i guess :)
....
Just watch for the Specials to Cali - much easier to fly than drive.
My list was that a List .. :S My stops would be Buena Vista and a good bit of side trips - then to Ridgway or Ouray - with a good week of side trips - then Durango/Mesa Verde. so three stops in Colorado, as you move to the next location you could possibly just drive through/by some of the others (example;from Buena Vista take the Jeep over RT 82 to Aspen and Maroon Bells for the day, white water rafting for a day into the Collegiates - Leadville/Quincy's - 4x4 trails all over the area)
Keep in mind it get's a little WARM in Utah so look for Water or Elevation (Hard to advise you as we only do Utah in the Winter) Bryce - North Rim - Boulder are all elevated, so a little cooler. Again even if you do not stop at least drive through these areas as you reposition. (I have a feeling you will be BACK.
For me we are bumpers - just move around - or will stay for a week and just bump from place to place all around and area. No real Plan No reservation, not for everyone but works for us.
I think you have it coming together.... just leave some slack so things can change.
Will check back for the morning update.
It just keeps getting Better "Thumb's UP"
