- TequilaExplorerI had bought a new garmin form months ago it did not it. Did an update 2 nights ago and it now appears. BTW, there appears to be a new one under construction on the north side of lake Chapala. I passed under it driving from La Barca along the north shore of the lake yesterday. Hard to tell where it is going or coming from. Also there appears to be a new retorno on the north south divided road from Chapala to Guadalahjara. This allow you wehn goign northbound to get into the soutbound lanes just north of the turn off towards Cajitilan. This is the route i use get from the SE corner of guadalajara (La Barca) over to Villa Corona The retorno means you dont have to drive another 8 km to just north of the airport to get back southbound.
- briansueExplorerGuess I better do another update before we head south.
- Canadian_RainbiExplorerBriansue I just checked our Garmin 760 and it shows on it, arcing from just north of Irapuato to NE of Salamanca. We updated just a week or two ago.
Art - briansueExplorerJust looked at our updated Garmin and that new road does not appear to be on there yet - maybe next year?

We remember going through La Piedad years ago before the road improvements reached the town.
Yep - you had to watch the signs very carefully and follow the truck route making many turns and going up hills and around curves - very confusing. Now there is a periferico around town with a small toll cuota. - briansueExplorer
I should learn how to draw lines on maps. It would be handy!
The computer draws the lines - I just use the Snipping Tool to Copy & Paste. - Canadian_RainbiExplorerThanks Briansue. We remember going through La Piedad years ago before the road improvements reached the town. What an adventure trying to find our way!
I should learn how to draw lines on maps. It would be handy! - briansueExplorerNow that I learned (finally) how to do this (I should probably stop) I thought I would show the other route I mentioned that does not take us to Morelia but does go to the Chapala area. The reason I bring this up is this route has some of those new rebuilt roads they have been doing all over Mexico. Most of this route is libre and has been widened and all new pavement - as well as new perifericos around towns. We can move right along just about as fast as we go on a cuota.
- briansueExplorerNow that I learned how to do this I will try something else. My old Streets & Trips 2013 does not show this new road. So I fooled around in S&T and drew a very rough idea of where this road appears to go - not at all accurate - but shows the start and end points. I made the line green. This is just an experiment to see if this will work.
- briansueExplorerI have no idea what I am doing or if this will work.
At the upper right of this forum page on the blue line I clicked on FORUM HELP AND SUPPORT which took me to . . . http://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/listings/forum/15442691.cfm . . .
Where I found a STICKY for TUTORIALS and PICTURE FAQs and Clicked which took me to . . . http://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/15775751.cfm . . .
Where I saw Easy Photo Upload & Posting Web App! (1492) - Click and this took me to . . . https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/201045551/Forums/PhotoUpload/RV.NET-Photo-Upload.html . . .
Where it shows a box and says to just Drag & Drop your picture.
I took a screen shot of Google Earth where the new road can be seen and saved it in my pictures folder where I save maps of Mexico - the road in question appears to be the yellow line that goes from north of Irapuato over toward Mendoza and then down to Salamanca.
I have no idea if this will work.......
Looks like it worked - first I tried doing a Copy & Paste the the pictures icon on the toolbar above and it did not work - then I just did what it said and did a Copy & Paste directly to the text area and it seems to work - hope this helps others who don't know how to do this. Maybe I will remember next time I want to post a map.
