Of everywhere I have ever traveled - whether on business or for pleasure my three favorite places on this planet are Newfoundland, a small lake in northern New Hampshire (intentionally unnamed 'cause I don't want to spoil it), and, of course, our home.
While there are many miles (we hope) still ahead of us, anywhere "new" to us that we may go will have to really sparkle to beat out any of those above.
To get to Newfoundland, we particularly like the overnite ferry from North Sydney to Argentia. After supper, laying on the deck forward of the forecastle - well, on a clear night, the sky is just amazing.
We book a cabin, so it's off to bed, then the next AM it's all smiles to be back to Newfoundland (sounds like Understand - as I was politely told on our first trip there).
Cheers.
