FYI, the Marine Atlantic site says they are fully booked July and August. We didn't need a reservation in early June this past year...which was nice...but snow/weather can be an issue. They told us it didn't run every day the week before we arrived to take ferry (maybe June 1). Make sure you have reservations for coming and going on the ferry.
