Next Exit
Has anyone used the Next Exit book? Is it worth owning? How accurate are they? Looking to travel out of Florida with the TT this year.

- We have one but don't use it as we try to stay off of freeways as much as possible. If you drive freeways mostly its worth having but if your a backroad traveler, waste of money
- Yes, there is an app for that but it's so much easier to pull out the book and look at what's on the exit 80 miles away without trying to read it on the smartphone screen. We also purchase it every 2 or 3 years. The Wal Mart atlas is also one of our favorites, lists every Wal Mart in the country. I like to look at the whole state when we are traveling. I use Streets & Trips as a general guide for mileage, not to plan our trips.
- I still carry a hard copy of The Next Exit, but rarely need to pull it out. I use a Free iPhone app called RoadAhead.
Not only finds Rest Areas to stop and refresh, but fuel stops, ATM's, fast food and many more. If we needed an emergency campground, I have other apps for that. Our trips are preplanned, GPS gets the next cg address plugged in at the beginning of each leg of our trip. - The book is good and worth buying, especially if you are a newbie just starting out.
However using my GPS I can find what's coming up at each exit. I can also search for lots of info through my Smartphone. Years ago there were not many options other than the printed book. Now the same info is available electronically.

They compliment each other. I'd say, get the book and use the app as well or in addition to the book. Not in place of the book.
