Nexus cards

We are going today for our Nexus card interviews and have one quick question. We heard that crossing in a motorhome is not allowed in the Nexus only lanes at the land border crossings.

Is there any truth to that?

It would be good to know which lanes do not accommodate a coach, do you have any info on the ones that do not?

According to the U.S. Border and Customs Security folks that we met with in Champlain NY, all the lanes are supposed to be the same size at the entry security posts in accordance with Homeland Security.

  • Remember, a Nexus card does not allow you to fly home in an emergency... need a passport for that.
  • Ask when you get there!

The Nexus lanes at the Peace Bridge lanes look tough to negotiate; I refuse to cross at Queenston (always too busy and too slow for me) and Sarnia looks OK for the Nexus lanes.

Haven't heard that one. From my observations from the BC/Washington side, Nexus lanes are not RV friendly and would be difficult to manuver through. The US crossings have a designated RV lanes.

Here in the east there are no designated RV lanes and all the security guide posts leading into the lanes are all the same width.

We used the Nexus lanes with our coach all the time and also with our current TT. You can use the Nexus lanes with whatever vehicle you are crossing with as long as everyone in the vehicle have Nexus cards.
