NJ residents!!!! How do you do it?

Let some one that doesn’t know much about cars pump gas? I knew this going in and it supposed to be about the drivers safety, but some of the guys running the pumps are not the brightest candles! I sat at one station for 5 minutes after the pump shut off. I couldn’t do it on a weekly basis. I hope they get rid of the outdated ridiculous law befor my next visit. By then I should have a DP and plenty of diesel to skip the pumps in the state!

Rant over! :E
  • Yeah, Oregon gas stations are the same way.. Gotta let them pump it for ya... I lived there for some time as a teenager, and a lot of my buddies got easy jobs pumping gas! Back then, min wage was around $3.35/hr.. I washed dishes.. Ha, ha!

Anyway, not sure what the reason was, but it hasn't changed in the 32 years that I've lived in WA state..

  • The person is safe enough to drive the vehicle at high speeds and interact with thousands of other people doing the same thing but they aren't competent enough to fuel the vehicle. Does someone fuel their hot lawn equipment or ATV or boats.
  • I'm sure the NJ pump operators are highly trained and qualified to do the job.
Remember, it's for the safety of the motoring public. Didn't you feel safer when driving in New Jersey? ;)
