No to Mexico? Feel safe here.
Chances are this post will be removed. What does it have to do with Mexico. Nothing. This is about those who are afraid to go to Mexico – or much of anywhere else. We do not know where this fear comes...

Sorry for any confusion. All reports by authorities, the press, State Department, Etc. are that the killings - mass or otherwise - in Mexico have to do with criminals killing other criminals - drug cartels killing drug cartels. The killings in Mexico rarely - almost never - involve innocent people.
Of course we are all free to do as we want and how we want and where we want. No one has ever told anyone they have to go anywhere or do anything.
Fear comes from many things and takes many forms. Fear of the unknown. Fear of those different than us (xenophobia). Fear of not speaking another language. And fear of the criminal element for sure. Fear can stop many in their tracks and fear can cause people to do very strange things - such as live in bomb shelters.
One of the things many of us on this forum do not understand - and have never understood - is why people come on this forum to proclaim they have no interest in Mexico - do not like Mexico - would not go to Mexico. This is a forum about Mexico. What possible reason is there to visit a forum you have no interest in? Unimaginable to me.
Of course people are allowed to be afraid if they choose to and they are allowed to live in bomb shelters or caves if they want to. If that is what makes you happy then that is what you should do. It is just that some of us choose to live differently - and that is what this forum is about - people who have an interest in Mexico rather than hiding in caves. So why do those who have no interest in Mexico come on this forum to tell us not to go to Mexico. Are we not free to choose to go to Mexico if it makes us happy? Do we not have that inalienable right?
Of course freedom of speech is also a right and anyone is free to speak on this forum. But why waste your time (and those who come here to learn about Mexico)by posting about a place you have no interest in. What would be the point?
