Nogales, Hermosillo, Navajoa Conditions

Friends just did that run today. Here is what they said:

The roads are good, continued construction outside Nogales, but moves good. Some construction outside Hermosillo with some lane deviation but all on good roads. New cuota completely bypasses Obregón! What a nice time saver!

Tomorrow they will go to Tepic.

  • does that mean the northern part of the obregon bypass is finished? I will be traveling south on Nov 1st, I will also watch for the hermosillo bypass. I know where it is supposed to join up with 15D north.
  • Excellent question. I had them watch for it, but they didn't mention it.
We have other friends in Mazatlan right now, I'll ask them too.
  • Wouldn't be difficult to drive on by Tepic without getting homesick...

If I drove Acapulco more often it would rank right up there on the wish list.

On the wish list is Puerto Vallarta. From Bucerias all the way up the canyon to the top of the plateau. About what (35) miles?

Every kilometer takes a lifetime. Around the airport, the bumper cars left turn lane. The road surface inside the two tunnels that would do justice to the Baja 1000. Then creep down the hill, 5 red light's worth, make a left then brave kamikaze taxi drivers all around the hillside curves as they shuttle people to the tourist zone from hotel driveways cleverly hidden around blind curves. All of them on the right side the taxis cut me off. I must have left a hundred feet of 35mph skidmarks on that section of misery 200

But I'll settle for Obregon going away. Los Mochis is another hemorrhoid.
