North to Alaska

If one is short on time, just fly to Alaska and rent an RV or a car for the trip.
If you're not short on time, the drive to/from Alaska shouldn't be missed...it's almost as nice as being in Alaska (with apologies to Sue T and other Canadians). :)
I sort of like Anchorage, but there are so many other places to see in Anchorage. Valdez is one of my favorite towns in Alaska and offers a variety of "tourist" activities that aren't often found in one location: sightseeing, fishing, kayaking, hunting (if so inclined and at the right time of year), climbing, skiing, etc.
