- profdant139Explorer IIDon't use the crickets in soup. Stir fry -- crispy crunchy!
Seriously, you'd think some predator would have taken care of the problem by now. - NamMedevac_70Explorer II

NamMedevac, Thanks for that. 50 to 95 was my first choice and I think I'll stay with it. How's the Mormon crickets around Elko?
I hear they are in the millions and thick as porridge soup. A week ago I ran into numerous crickets on highway 445 on the Pyramid Lake Indian Reservation northwest of Sutcliff and Pelican Point boat ramp. - freewayrandyExplorerNamMedevac, Thanks for that. 50 to 95 was my first choice and I think I'll stay with it. - NamMedevac_70Explorer III am very familiar with both routes and I would go 50 to Fallon then 95 to 80 and onto to Elko. Very good condition wide highway all the way and you of course avoid all the traffic in reno. You also avoid all the heavy traffic on 80 east of Reno/Sparks to the Reno Sparks Industrial Park at Clark on 80. Fallon is easy drive thru town with 4 lane main street and no heavy traffic. I80 east of Fernley to Elko is easy drive all the way with light traffic.
After you reach Carson City there are no steep grades and switch backs. 95 is straight and wide with no normally heavy traffic up to 80. There are some short steep switch backs just east of Austin on Hwy 50. I am not familiar with 278. Cheers from the rodeo. - freewayrandyExplorerI should have added pulling a 36' toyhauler.
- My choice would be US 50 to Eureka, then NV 278 north to I 80.
