Don't try to out think Mexican bureaucracy. First they pull you down to their level then beat you with experience.
Hacienda SAT SHCP ADUANA is SUSPICIOUS. They do not believe in deduction nor common sense. My proof of exit thermal receipt went blank over the period of a year and guess what.....the official exit did not appear in their database.
Guilty until proven innocent. It is called NAPOLEONIC LAW and Mexico is infamous for it.
When someone advises (like Moishe did) to not take chances BELIEVE IT!
Here goes a proper reply to a sea lawyer challenge...
MEXICO meaning ADUANA keeps TRACK of 180-day Temporary and 10 year temporary motor vehicle import permits by your PASSPORT NUMBER. Get a permit online. Did you stop at the SAT window and get anything stamped when entering Mexico?
When a FM-3 holder USED TO renew their FM-3, then on the spot ADUANA and INM officials USED TO check to make sure "things made sense".
Someday HACIENDA and INM will link databases. I hope I am dead by then.
