The AAA route is a good route and it will have less traffic than going thru Bend. Taking 20 thru Bend is 426 miles to the North entrance to Crater Lake, while the 395 thru Christmas Valley to Hwy 97 is 421 miles to the South entrance.
If you do go thru Christmas Valley you will want to turn left (at the gas station in Christmas Valley) this will take you to Hwy 31 and on to Silver Lake. About 2 miles north of Silver Lake is your route to Hwy 97.
This is exactly what I was looking for, Dale. Thanks! Also, concerning the road that goes from Silver Lake to US 97 thru the Klamath Marsh Wildlife Refuge, is it paved? Would it be suitable for towing a trailer? About how far is it from the Silver Lake turnoff to where it ends at US 97? Thanks again!
