The crystal balls have been very defective in recent years. Maybe the north & south poles are starting to shift, causing much murkiness in the crystal. Dunno. :B
Best to just move on up when you're ready. Don't try to second guess the weather, just adapt to it. That will give the best experience.
Mosquitoes are out now. Will be around until first frost, maybe September.
We always enjoyed late August and early September for our trips north. Fall colours are spectacular. There's less traffic. Days are usually sunny and bright. Highways repairs are complete.
Although we don't enjoy Alaska so much during this period because hunting season is underway; it is a hectic time in Alaska. The hunters like to be in the same remote areas we prefer. Whereas Yukon doesn't have the same hyperactivity during hunting season.
