It snowed in Whitehorse today. Stuck to the ground and cars too.
A friend near Braeburn (north of Whitehorse) had 2" yesterday. Likely more today too.
Although I just woke up from a snooze on the deck in the sunshine. No snow at our place west of Whitehorse.
BUT, quite possibly summer has already passed and we're into winter 2013/14.
Hope y'all have your snow tires or tire chains ... :(
:)Hi Sue !
I'll bet a lot of folks from way down here think your pulling their leg about chains or snow tires or the possibility of ever needing such things in the summer. Even though your neck of the woods is not as high as a lot of places in Colorado, Wyoming and Montana, your much shorter distance from the pole probably makes it as likely as in the Rockies for getting dumped on by gobs of the white stuff any month of the year. Back in an earlier life while in the employ of the Colorado dept. of Highways, I wound up hitching up the plows and putting in a long day on our 4th of July holiday due to 10 inches of the dastardly stuff in our little town "Walden" and upwards of 14 inches up on the pass over the divide.Did not stay around long though, but made for an interesting holiday that I shall never forget.
Regards :)
