We also stayed at Clover Pass and saw a couple of whales in the very distance. Had a mink right behind the RVs.

I think you will enjoy the city park in Sitka. That is where we stayed and the view were great even thought it is really just a parking lot. You can walk to town.

We would recommend the Larkspur cafe an evening meal. Try to plan it when they have some entertainment. We particularly like the fondue and Salmon Chowder.
