Finally, we are rolling North this morning. Rains should have moved on, mosquitos satisfied and roads in good repair. Yeah right. I appreciate all the information. Haven't heard any complaints about Customs, hope we breeze through tomorrow. Hope we see some of you on the road.
We did not have any problem with customs in Canada or Alaska. They asked if we had firearms and liquor. Told them one bottle of gin and bourbon and they just said have a nice day. Have your passports handy, take your sunglasses off and turn your engine off. They never asked about food or vegetables. Our cousin traveling with us in their trailer has three dogs and they never asked about them. Rain has lightened up. Just light showers once in a while. We are headed to Fairbanks this morning for three days to do all the tourist things. Riverboat Discovery, Gold Dredge 8 etc. The toursaver book is a lifesaver. Already got our money back on just two tours. Our boost phone doesn't work here but with Wi-Fi at the park or our mi-fi by Verizon there has not been any problem. I use Skype to make reservations. Works great.....so far.....lol
Don't forget in Delta Junction to get your picture by the milepost of the end of the Alaska Hwy. Plus they have giant metal statues of their mosquitos here. You gotta get your picture with them. Too much fun.
Please drive safe everyone and slow down.....what's the hurry...?
Did anyone find out if the MH accident in Edmonton was a "Roll Call" traveler? So sad. Prayers to the family.
