hi donp5311...glad highway 16 is quiet for you. It hasn't really recovered since all the mills shut over the past 10 years. It's coming back now, with the resource based industries. The big yellow Arrow trucks are hauling ore. You'll see them going up/down 37.
If you are looking for a spot at Kitwanga..go over the bridge, carry on up 37, up the hill..PAST the Cassiar RV turn off, to the next left turn, which brings you past a school, cafe and on your left a Community campground. No fees.
You asked about places to camp on 37? Just about everywhere you look, after passing Kitwancool...40? k's from the junction, and you are good to go. All kinds of pull offs, rest areas, scrub landings. Some are right off the highway and some you kind of see as you drive by..have to turn around. I don't know what you are driving...there is a shortage of good boondocking spots in the Stewart/Hyder areas. If you are in a C, A or camper, you can always tuck in somewhere, tho.
If you can remember..5ks' past the Cranberry Junction turn off, there is Bonus Lake, on your left. Only a few spots, so if they are taken, carry on..there's a bunch of Rec Areas just up the road.
After Meziadin it's just one good spot after another.
Dease Lake...just prior to Dease, there is lake side camping. After Dease..it gets kind of mountainous, but again, lots of pull offs.
