Just finished the drive to Chicken across Top Of The World Hwy, and found it very passable. The Canadian side of the road is both gravel and asphalt, and was in very good condition except for the dust. We were able to drive around 30 on the gravel and 50 on asphalt. The views are amazing!
The border crossing was a piece of cake. Be sure and get your passport stamped as its a very cool one.
However, shortly after crossing into Alaska we came upon 15 miles of road construction and this was the worse part of the trip. Im glad we did it on a Sunday. Speed in the construction was 10 mph and bumpy. Elsewhere was 20-30 mph and some skinny roads with drop offs, but very doable.
Hope this info helps.
