Spotted what I think is cosninocanines at Bear Paw in Valdez tonight--Ford F350 and 24' North Trail 5'er with AZ plates. He is right across the drive from us. Knocked but no answer-sorry I missed you.
And I think I spotted Janet's MH with a Chevy Equinox in tow and Oregon plates when we were over at Eagle's Rest doing our laundry. Washers there are $2/load vs. $3/load at Bear Paw. Every dollar saved now means there is a dollar more to spend at Simon & Seafort's when we get to Anchorage. BTW, that is a beautiful coach, Janet.
Some info for those of you in Valdez now or headed this way. We drove over to Dayville Road this evening and found a bear jam. A mama grizzly and FOUR cubs were walking along the base of the mountain just a few yards south of the road, heading toward the fish hatchery. My wife shot 245 photos in 1/2 an hour just before it got too dark to take more. We had heard about them from an Anchorage couple we met at Kennicott, so went to investigate. So, if you are not "beared out," you may want to check them out some evening.
Love Valdez, but we decided to leave after only two nights when we learned that the salmon derby starts Saturday. We are not fishermen, so we would rather get out of Dodge than be here when everyone from Anchorage arrives tomorrow night. Maybe we'll go to Anchorage for the weekend while everyone there is here!
