Alaska 2013 Gang!!!
We've followed this thread, and others, and had planned/added our name to the roll call...
We were supposed to be on our Retirement Victory Tour. Have a sign made stating 2013 for the Sign Forrest too. But, as life sometimes goes - stuff happens.
I retired in January, DW retired in May. We were to hit the road in early June. 8 days before trip blast off, my DW's Mother blew out her lower intestines. So, we had 22 days of hospital visits, and have now had her home living with us and double teaming her on the recovery front. (I can affectionately now call her "A Bag Lady!").
We've been using our idle time, and budget for this years trip, to pull forward some of the planned modifications for the coach. As I type, we're having Bus-kote rooing added, and Solar Panel upgrades. We'll balance it out with a few cabinet mod's.
We both feel very lucky that we were here to help 'our Mom' (when I'm nice, she lets me call her that), and saved us the cost of a flight home for the DW from the road. She is doing great on her recovery, and we're confident she will 'be OK!'...
While we missed the Alaska 2013 opportunity to travel with such a nice clan, we've followed, enjoyed and continue to learn from the many great updates.
We'll take another run at it in 2014!!
My best to you all, and for those of you that have completed your trips - salute. For those of you still in your journey, have a blast!
Best to you all, stay safe,
Smitty
