When we were in Valdez in 2008, everyone was pointing out the homes owned by the "spillionaires" This trip, we went back into the commercial area in Seward and saw all of the quick response oil spill vessels loaded on flatbeds and ready to deploy. I think they learned a valuable lesson before.
I also wonder if there is also a quick response plan to move them via ship if necessary. We saw many forms of cargo transportation ships carrying anything you can think of including a car and boat trailer. The recovery boats could be dropped in the water right at the spill location.
