The moon changed our plans! :(
We're on the way to Haines and planned to take the ferry to Skagway. Reservations were going great until I asked them about the low tide thinking about ground clearance. Oops we're to high for low tide! Apparently we'll be driving down and back.
Todays adventure: We left Tok headed towards Haines. I had forgotten about the Alaskan Highway in Canada and we were soon bouncing down the road at 25 MPH and that was before the 14 miles of construction. We drove so slow in the construction that the pilot car had to stop and wait several times since we were near the head of the line!
So if I'm driving my maximum speed which is below you minimum speed - have a nice day!
Then we get to a nice campground expecting to go on a bear tour. But the bears aren't running if you get my drift relative to the fish. Lots of berries are ready for them but they are nowhere to be seen.
This trip is an adventure that we're really enjoying. This was a one and only one ever trip and now we're talking about the second trip! Hope you enjoy some of my humor - but the pilot car did have to wait.
