We arrived home in Florida on August 6th, left again for West Florida to hunt for scallops on the 9th. Left the motorhome in Steinhatchee until Labor day. In 9 days we went from 70 degree days and 59 degree nights to 95+ temps with 99 degree humidity. Talk about culture shock! This was our second trip to Alaska with the Beaver. First time, we blew the engine and had to take a one month hiatus in the trip. This time, the coach was fine, but we shook the baseplate loose on the toad and tore the front fascia and headlights off the car (serious design flaw in the baseplate attachement design), and got 5 chips in the coach windshield, all from cars and truck going too fast the other way on gravel construction zones near Watson Lake. We still wouldn't trade the experiences for anything in the world. Our daughter flew up with two of our grands (5 and 7). They had an experience they will remember forever. The little 5 year old girl was the youngest child that they had ever had fishing on the halibut boat, and caught her two fish, with just a little help from the mates. It was great to meet those of you who were in the parks with us.
