In 2007 we hit a nasty ice storm on the Alaska Highway in northern British Columbia on September 17 & 18. Travel wasn't recommended by the authorities due to the ice/snow. Those on the road had icicles hanging from mirrors and hitches.
In 1993, we woke to fresh snow on the ground in Yukon on September 18.
The weather has been extremely variable this year. It was a late spring. It has been a hotter than usual summer. Can't predict when the first snow will blanket the ground but wouldn't be surprised if it is in mid-September.
