Our favourite feature for cold weather RVing is a programmable thermostat for the furnace. They set to a minimum temp of about 40F, which is fine for our sleeping. Then the furnace comes on at the programmed time in the morning, makes a nice alarm clock. After a few minutes the RV is warmed and we can get out of bed in comfort.
The thermostat I bought for the camper last year has all 7 days programmed the same, which was the most cost effective. I installed it on my own, just a few screws to undo the old and install the new.
The camper doesn't have air conditioning so this install was much simpler than the install on the fifth wheel which does have air conditioning. We've never used it, but it has it.
