Well ... just returned from a long weekend trip to my hometown of Beaver Creek. Drove up and back on the Alaska Highway.
Gotta say the Alaska Highway from Destruction Bay to Beaver Creek is the best we've felt it in years. Most of the roughness is between the Donjek River and Beaver Creek now. South of the Donjek the driving is very good. North of the Donjek there are long stretches of good road where we actually achieved the speed limit with the truck/camper towing a fishing boat. Didn't have any real heaves either, just rolly polely kind of stuff. And not many potholes. Much improved compared to past years!
Didn't go north of Beaver Creek though as we saw the muddy vehicles coming south from the construction zone. We just visited some friends and then returned home stopping to fish and hike a few spots.
