Heads up that Cottonwood RV Park on the shores of Kluane Lake (south of Destruction Bay) closed for the season on the Labour Day weekend.
Westmark RV Park in Beaver Creek will close September 7.
Kluane RV Kampground in Haines Junction usually stays open late in the season, up to early October.
The territorial campgrounds remain open. Snag Junction campground and Lake Creek campground were very nice during the weekend. Good cranberry, blueberry and blackberry picking at both! Enjoyed fresh berries in our oatmeal. These "real" berries taste so much better than commercially grown berries.
Not much wildlife BUT the birds have started their southern migration. The Shakwak Trench (Alaska Highway) and Tintina Trench (Klondike Highway) are both busy with birds and will be until mid October. If you hear a lot of party noise and can't tell from which direction it is coming, look up.
