oops - no reservations in Newburgh, NY now what?

Thanks again for your assistance. We decided to stay another day in Sturbridge, MA and forgot to make reservations at the KOA in Newburgh, NY. Oooppss!

We like to travel less than 3 hours - 2 preferably. Any suggestions on where to stay on our way to 209 south?

Thanks for any advice!
  • You all make me laugh - thank you!

Yes, we do prefer to travel 2 hours only. Perhaps a bit more this first newbie trip! Due to my nerves with the fast trucks and highways! Oh, and our indoor cat who has never done this before either! Yes, the 2-2-2 rule is perfect for us, as well.

Thanks for being there and for sharing the experiences we've read about...finally we may have enough time to 'give back' and that will start with the cooks corner!
  • Can't speak to the OP's reasons, but we try to live by the 2-2-2 rule - drive about 200 miles, get there by 2pm, stay at least 2 weeks. Of course, we're retired fulltimers and realize lots of folks don't have that kind freedom. Apparently the OP does . .

So............. You prefer only 2 hours of driving a day ?

Sorry for the question , buy I just had to ask!
  • Thanks! We got in at Sylvan for 1 night. And can you believe, we got the last pull thru at the next CG - a KOA in Delaware Water Gap! Wow, we have learned a few things from our first trip!

Yes, Dutch, we did call directly and they are full up because of the holiday. Now we know! We are blessed! Thanks for the help and suggestions!
  • Have you called the Newburgh KOA directly? RV parks often have at least a few sites that are held out of the reservation system to accommodate walk-ins and site changes due to utility issues, etc.
