Good report. Please clear something up for me...4X4Dodger wrote:I've heard my entire life (as most have) about bad Mexican water - Montezuma's revenge - that stuff. Is that true? Is some of the water bad.. most of it.. what?
We filled our tanks with Mexican water and used it for washing and other things sometimes we made coffee with it. We never had a problem.
The water issue is complicated. After living overseas in places where you DEFINITELY do not drink the water you gain some perspective on this issue.
I think most of the Mexicans drink bottled water or purified water. As they do we bought our drinking water from stores that filter it and sell it. Or bought the 20 liter bottles from OXXO (Like 7/11)
The water in my tank I used for showers and toilet and sometimes coffee if it tasted ok and to boil or steam vegetables in.
However I would have no qualms about drinking the water in larger cities like Loreto, Cabo, and La Paz as they have effective water treatment plants.
The water you buy and the ICE is all made from purified water. Do NOT believe the stories of those that claim otherwise.
When I lived in SE ASIA I often drank the tap water in Bangkok, Phnom Penh and other major cities during the DRY season. During the rainy season the treatment plants are just overwhelmed and I stick to the bottled stuff.
But you can go with assurance that Yes the water wont kill you if you get it on your skin or take a shower in it as some seem to think.
