Searching the internet will turn up results of test done on bottled water which rates different brands and also tells what was found in the water - one of the most well known brands in the US contained arsenic.
It is easy enough to find filters that get rid of almost all harmful stuff including taste and odor - I have mentioned sources on this forum previously.
As I have also said we have our own filter system as well as a UV system. You can research UV to learn about it if you want.
There is no way to know if bottled water or any other water is truly purified. The only way to know if you have good water is to have your own system. You do not have to go overboard or spend a lot of money. A couple of basic filters and a $100 UV will provide you with safe clean drinking water.
Don't take my word for anything - all of this can be researched online.
Many people get sick from drinking water all over the world. It is not always apparent immediately. All you have to do is read lots of recent articles about Flint, MI where they found they had lead in their water. Flint is not an isolated case. And the US is supposed have good water.
Once again - you can easily create your own safe drinking water system in your RV and/or you house for under $200 and know that you have filtered and killed any and all harmful substances. Why would you not?
