Outer Banks

Wondering if anyone knows what the current conditions are at the Outer Banks in N. Carolina? We are at Smoky Mountain National Park and thinking of heading that way but wonder how hard they've been hit with all the storms and if its worth going there.

We are currently at the KOA in Rodanthe. Everything is fine here - a little chilly & breezy, but the beach is wide & the grounds are in good shape.

Thank you Sir...that was the type of info I was looking for

    x2

fellow members here have given me helpful specific advice concerning campgrounds that i had previously not been too that i would not have found on google.

I know how to use Google to get current weather conditions....I was asking about whether there is anything still standing there or has it all been destroyed.

I'm on your side. There's nothing more condescending than being told to just Google it.

Except that I did not tell him that, I posted a link and just commented that he could have found that link faster than the time it took him to ask here. Which is very true.

The park status page would show if there was any major damage or parts of the park were closed. Unless it was a mighty strange storm if the park is undamaged then you can assume the surrounding area is as well. Tho it is always a good idea to call the cg before going as suggested above.

  • Google is your friend.

LOL! It sure is. I would also check directly with any campground you might pick to see if they are 100% operational or at least operational to a point you can handle.
