Overnight in Durango, CO
Will be passing through Durango in 2 weeks. Looks like Durango Mall parking lot will be good for an 8 hour stop. Any issues with overnighting in Durango?

Durango Mall is posted--there is NO overnight camping there and the police enforce it. Also, the CHP will definitely check you out during the night if you park anywhere along the roadside of US 550.
You might get away with staying overnight at the Purgatory Ski Area parking lot north of Durango. And the NFS Hermosa Creek Special Management Area, also north of town, allows free dispersed camping. But you may have to go a few miles off US 550 on a Forest Service Road to find the dispersed camping area.
