Well, my suggestion is just slightly west of Williams, Exit 151, Welch Road between Ash Fork & Williams. Get off at the exit and head north, straight into a large open BLM or national forest area, hundreds of rv's could park there. Nothing but open area, there were several other rv's there when we parked for 1 night.
Stayed there last Thursday night. 2 other RVs in area. Watched digital Phoenix TV with standard antenna with booster on.
Thanks for the suggestion. Would do again. Only negative was goat heads.
Thank you. - missourijanExplorerWell, my suggestion is just slightly west of Williams, Exit 151, Welch Road between Ash Fork & Williams. - 2gypsies1Explorer IIIWe stayed at Homolovi Ruins State Park in June and will again in October.
Also, we've stayed at a gift shop parking lot which welcomes RVers by taking from Exit 285 at Holbrook and 180 south to the entrance of Petrified Forest Nat'l Park. It's right at that corner. When you're ready to leave the next morning you can drive through Petrified Forest and end up on I-40, Exit 311. Gives you a little bit of different scenery on that barren stretch. :)
Have a good trip! - eubankExplorerThere's a state park just outside of Winslow called Homolovi Ruins State Park. Check to see that they're still open.
:)
Lynn - rv2goExplorer III have spent the night at the Flying J and the Walmart in Winslow. I prefer the Walmart.
