Hey, PT. Your route is a good one. You will find it is definitely not the fastest route but it is very scenic with lots to visit and photograph. If you are interested in trains I would stop at the Railway museum in Revelstoke (Lamplighter campground is a nice little park and is well run). As another poster suggested, Nelson is a really interesting town (as are Nakusp and New Denver). Fort Steele is worth an afternoon visit and I would recommend stopping at the Riverside Campground in Kimberley to take in the mining display in Kimberley (train ride underground to a replica of the now closed underground operation in Kimberley).
