EarlE, with a 2007 Duramax you will have ZERO issues with sulfur in the fuel. The ONLY vehicles adversely affected by the higher sulfur levels in Mexican fuel are 2011 and later diesels - the ones that use DEF. The SCR (Selective Catalytic Reducer) gets temporarily poisoned with sulfur compounds between regenerations and will SOMETIMES put up Poor Quality DEF warnings. But even in the 2011 and later vehicles group, it is only the Duramax powered trucks that have serious issues. Those issues are 100% manageable though and I share the knowledge with dozens of Duramax owners, like myself, every season.
So, anyone with a diesel pre DEF can happily take the vehicle anywhere in Mexico with NO sulfur-in-fuel related issues. Don't postpone your trip south any longer.
