It's the same in Canada. US oil companies can sell their product in Canada at higher prices which is almost always due to higher taxes.
Aren't taxes the primary reason gas and diesel costs vary so much from state to state in the US and the reason why prices in UK and Europe are so high?
With Pemex the distinction between taxes is blurred since Pemex is owned/controlled by the government.
