I think that part of one of my posts explains part of it. But the question to me remains - How can the price of a barrel drop from over $100 to less than $40 and the price at the pump keep going up? In the US we saw the price come down substantially - now paying well under $2 a gallon for both gas and diesel - down from over $4. But in Mexico the price adjustment for gallons per dollar (calculated from pesos per liter) is well over $3. It is the same oil out of the same hole in the ground. I do think the tax shown above has a lot to do with it. I have no real knowledge of the theft of oil from pipelines or whatever. I have heard the union has tremendous power and is corrupt.

I always gave you more credit than that. Pemex prices have not gone up in over a year, which before was authorised BY Congress. Prices are still fixed but due to the energy reform, will start to be flexible in the next couple years. YOU should know this.
