I work in public schools including primary, secondary and cobachilleres, and opportunities for education have never been greater. Walk a mile in my shoes and then tell me there are no opportunities.
Prospera is the PRI's extension of Oportunidades that pays families to keep their kids in school in "poor" rural areas. Been there, know it, seen it.
There are scholarship programs abounding throughout Mexicans states both federal, state and private.
As I have said before, if you know of a child who is dirt poor and goes to school in rags, let me know.
