Now if you are on any of the narcotic based pain pills, then you probably better have a doctor's letter. Some drugs may not even be legal in all of Canada, such as medical marijuana.
I think you require more than a "list". The meds in the original pharmacy issued container with the pharmacy label attached. As a further precaution, I also carry a copy of the doc's prescription. Having said all that I have never been questioned going either north or south but I prefer to cover as many bases as I can. I had a friend turned around trying to enter the US because he did not have adequate evidence of the legitimacy of the prescription drugs he was carrying. Once he obtained the proper documentation there was absolutely no problem. As to MaryJane, pretty much a nono everywhere in Canada regardless of an authorization for the product that is adequate in the US. The first step after discovery is arrest and detention.
