To answer both of you, I suspect SAT sent out some sort of memo to banjercito or Banjercito sent a memo out to border points about enforcing and somewhere teh defintiion of GVW got lost in translation. I am wondering if they just told them to check door stickers. They see the GVW of over 3500 kg or 7700 lbs, and deny on that basis. That might fit with there being no issues at Nogales, as its a 3 or 4 min walk to the parking lot and they are likely too lazy. The outcome we are hoping for is some sort of letter of clarification from SAT that GVW is not cargo capacity. If we manage to get that I will make it available for download in this thread or a new one. From Gabriels point of view this is not only his caravan business, he is organizing tours for a lot of Adventure Caravans trips and others as well, so it will hit him right in the pocketbook. Speaking for myself, I am not willing to show up at the border with say a 12 rig caravan and have half of them turned back. (Including myself as I have a 1 ton) I will be insisting they attempt to get permits online first, before they make a final payment. Hopefully it will not come to that.
