Take it from someone who got the "right" mosquito bite in Mazatlan in 2005, that turned into encephalitis. Do what you can to not get bitten, and if you feel weird, rush to a doctor, even on Christmas Day in Playa Azul!

That's the bummer of it all, missing the great sunrises and sunsets :(

Really am surprised about some comments about Las Jaibas. We have stayed there and last year they gave each camper 2 sites each...not bad.

I liked Tres Amigos but not the no seeums and I don't like using bug spray. Not sure what to do yet.

Over the years we have stayed at all of the RV parks in Mazatlan. The last three years we have stayed at Las Jabibas. To us this park has an open feeling, with lots of birds to watch,as compared to others that are closed in. We have stayed at Mar Rosa a number of time, with the units close together and the walls, it feels a bit closed in. The other park that is very open is Tres Amigos on Stone Island. It has a nice open feel, but watch out for the no-seems. Two years ago we stayed at Stone Island for four days. When we got to Las Jabibas, my legs looked like I had the measles.
