We had Nellie the black bear come into our campsite every day for a week or so, 2 years ago. She was not scared of a quad being revved up, or a truck horn being honked at her. There was a berry patch close by as in a few feet close. So myself, my son and son in law stood there watching her and we each had a can of bear spray. Never needed it as she was obedience trained. When she decided that she had enough berries for a few hours she would start to move towards us and we would say, in a calm voice, no Nellie go the other way and she would. It was a daily occurrence. I have to say that she was only interested in those berries. Oh yes, she sure didn't like it when another camper fired off a bear bang. That made her move quite fast. There were a lot of pictures taken from the 3 trailers by the woman folk and yes I was to be the sacrificial person as , at that time I was 69 years old thereby being the slowest of the 3 of us standing there and moving with her as she went around the campsite. We were dry camping in the Rocky Mountains, in Alberta.
