Two trips to Alaska (2005 and 2008) and never used either and never had a problem. Only stone issue we had on the two trips was a stone chip in the windshield of our TV which was still there when we sold it last spring. We did not drive roads like the Haul Road or the road into McCarthy which may have been more of a problem. We used tour services for those roads.
