Question about crossing with expired 10yr permit

We had our Jeep stolen in Mexico in 2014 and not recovered. We spent a week running around trying to get permit cancelled and finally gave up. In 2015 we came in with a new jeep, different passport number. No problem.

As suggested above I would apply on line and once the new decal arrives remove the old one. And shut up about the old one at the border!
